Thinking & Creating

How many times have you heard, “That’s the way it’s always been done.”

And you felt boxed in and thought to yourself,  “There has to be a better way.”

That’s the difference between Bounded Thinking and Centered Thinking.

The Bounded Set Believes:

There’s a set way to accomplish every goal … A way that things have always been done. Thinking then becomes trapped in a loop where uniqueness is lost and the story is simply retold the same way every time.

The Centered Set Believes:

Goals have a center point, but how that goal is achieved requires solutions as unique and creative as your story.

How we think powers how we create.

Integrating an effective communication blueprint:

  • Web Design & Content - Your site should tell a story from the beginning to the end. If you were newly engaged with your brand would your site draw you in or would you click past your content?

  • Newsletters - When is the last time you checked your analytics? Are your newsletters opened? Is the layout readable and engaging? Here’s a tough question: Would you read your newsletter if it landed in your inbox?

  • Effective Social Media - It’s a connecting point that is undeniable. It needs to be implemented in different ways for different demographics, utilizing a strategic plan.

  • Promotional Videos - You have a few moments of audio that partners with your visual, so it’s vital that the script is on point in every way.

  • Grant Writing - All writing is storytelling. If you work for a nonprofit, then make certain that your story is being shared in a way that is nuanced and not simply numbers and facts.

“The mission of Centered Communications is to capture the attention of the mind through the heart. To think unbound with all communication points effectively centered on sharing the stories that frame life and define purpose.”

-Clare Purinton, Principal Centered Communications

Centered Thinking Understands The End Goal …

And comes at problems from every angle, applying thinking that is outside of the box, sometimes wondering if there should even be a box.
